Testimonial

I tested the 1 ounce Elite Tungsten Weights and was very amazed at how well it performed.  After several fish catches, while punching through matted grass, the paint on the weight was not chipped.  The smoothness of the weight greatly helped the bait slide through the grass with a quiet presentation.  I was very satisfied with Elite Tungsten Weights and will be using them from now on.

elite tungsten pro staffDoug Vahrenberg is an accomplished angler and sonar guru. Doug fishes the BASS Central Opens and some select FLW Outdoors Everstart Events. One of his highlights was finishing in the Top 10 in the Everstart Championship on the Mobile Delta plus numerous Top 50 finishes in the Everstart and BASS Open Events.

Doug is most recognized with his work for Humminbird Side Imaging Sonar and sharing his vast knowledge of sonar technology. But his sharing doesn't end there he helps anglers all over the world get reliable information on fishing. "I always appreciated what others did to help me get started when I was thirsting for information, this is my way to return the same help to others or more".

Strengths: Shallow Water Power Fishing. Fish can be caught year round in ultrashallow depths. Flippin and Cranking are my two key techniques for success. "Elite Tungsten Flippin Weights are key asset because they come thru cover so well I can keep moving without having to stop because I'm hung up."

Weakness: Vertical Fishing. I feel like I'm a needle in the haystack. But this is what I do for fun fishing. It makes me better angler building confidence. "Elite Tungsten Drop Shot Weights are helping me gain confidence in the technique because I can concentrate on catching and learning versus worrying about my tackle"

Favorite Fishery: Any River System. "I love rivers, I understand current related fish and normally they are a battle or grind and that's just fun to me"

Nick LeBrun
Vivian, LA

Current Location: Tyler, TX

Family: Wife, Jolene

Fish over 8lbs: 22

Favorite Fishing Style: Dropping and punching thick, matted grass.

Most of the time Nick has one thing on the brain: Competitive Bass Fishing. The swampy waters of Caddo Lake are Nick’s home waters where he learned to fish shallow grass, but as time went by he ventured into the lakes of East Texas where he studied and became comfortable with deep water tactics. In the past few years Nick has been in the spotlight of success by fishing tournaments on a regional level such as Bassmaster Weekend Series, Skeeter Bass Champs, and other local circuits. So far, the highlights of Nick’s tournament fishing include being 2011 Angler of the Year for Bassmaster Weekend Series Division 10, a first place finish in a Weekend Series Event in May of 2012, and a few high finishes with partner Chris Lee in Skeeter Bass Champs. Lake Sam Rayburn has become Nick’s favorite tournament water because of the high level of competition in that area.

“When it comes to a tungsten weight there are two words that any serious angler will look for: Insert Free. Every time I set the hook with an Elite Tungsten weight I never have to worry about the line fraying.”
